Where do I find a mixed race family figurine?

My best friend and her husband are white. They recently adopted a newborn boy who is half white, half African American. I would like to buy her a figurine or picture of some sort that depicts either 2 white parents and an African American baby or 2 white parents, a white son, and an African American baby (they have a son that is her husbands from his first marriage). I am having the hardest time finding anything. I wouldn't think this would be such a far out request given the time we live in. Can someone help me find something like this please!?!? Thank you.

    easy peasy. Mix and match.

Why not see if you can find some to paint yourself? It would add an extra personal touch.

Why not get a marble figurine in one color, therefore teaching the child that color doesn’t matter, and that she is their daughter, and nothing else matters.

We have two “Precious Moments” figures that show white parents with a different race child. I say “different race” because it’s not clearly black or native. . . just a different shade that could apply to anyone just about. I’m not sure of the name of them or even if they are still offered since we have had them for about 15 years but you may want to check through a collectors site.

I dont have an answer, but I’d like to find something like this too! You sound like a really good friend. Most people just buy junky stuff for gifts that people dont really want, saying “it’s the thought that counts” when they dont put any thought into it at all. I know I’d love something like this & I bet your friend would too.
This might be silly, but I “created” a family like us with a Barbie & Ken doll that match our hair & eye color, & a little black baby that came with the Skipper baby-sitting set.

You probably will have to mix and match. I suggest you try and find a Hispanic baby. I say this because this child is a mulatto to have him represented as black child is one dropping this kid and that is racist. Many mulattos are often confused for being of Hispanic/Latino ancestry and often have similar skin complexion.

Your friend and her husband may consider checking out the positive Resource board

I have an inter-racial family. My house is full of santa’s (black and white) Angels (black and white) in fact everything that relates to Christmas in our house, has all kinds of statues, plaques, ornaments and pictures of ethnic people.

Look in the Card Shops, sometimes they have what you are looking for. In the past I have gone into some shops, looked around, asked at the counter if they had any “black angels” and when they said no, they did not carry anything black, then I informed them that I would not be shopping at their store any more, and walked out.

There are many more ethnic pictures, statues, santa’s etc. than when I was bringing up my children (two black sons) so spend some time looking and asking. /
