Can anyone identify this children’s book? (About disabled boy who plays with cricket figurines)?

Years ago, I remember my brother get an audiobook from the library that I also ended up hearing. I do not remember much about the story, but enough that it can be frustrating that my web searches have found no evidence of the existence of the book "Some details: The book focuses on a handicapped boy who was really interested in cricket. Unable to play, he used to play the game of cricket with small figures representing the players has a male best friend who he plays with these games, although I seem to remember that both they a drop at a time donné.Je also remember there was some bullying experienced by the child / s of "gross school. The books end was sad, and I'm pretty sure attended the dying child (perhaps even before the argument had been properly settled between best friends? Not sure about this ..). Another strange detail remains with me is some of the numbers of children and trampling crushed! Can anyone help?

Sorry, no. Try asking your local librarian.

I remember listening to this audiobook too. It has been called the final test. I seem to remember the disabled child and his friend played with miniatures, recreating their own version of the Bodyline series (I remember one summer Larwood, Bradman …). The friend has also played cricket for real, I think.
